Interior of Bell Hill Barns

The Larney family, invite you to come and stay in Bell Hill Barns. Here you will receive a warm welcome and personal care.

Built in the 1840's, these restored barns were once part of the impressive Knockabbey Castle Estate. Whilst the original 1,000 acre Estate no longer operates, the Castle and Gardens retain the beauty and aura of another era.
The barns here at Bell Hill were once a hub of activity, at the very heart of the working Castle Estate. Animals were tended to, crops and vegetables were grown and repairs were carried out. Each barn, The Forge, The Quail House and The Byre, has a story to tell.

Here we have successfully blended the old and the new. The charming buildings, with their original stone walls, brick arches and wooden beams evoke a true feeling of times past. At the same time our visitors can still enjoy the comfort of modern conveniences.

Located in the heartland of rural Co. Louth, Bell Hill Barns offers you an opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle - unwind, relax, be inspired!

The area is a haven for wildlife. Rabbits, pheasants and other animals are all at home in Bell Hill!

For the more energetic visitor, there's lots to do. Our location in mid-Louth allows you quick access to the varied attractions within the county. In addition, our proximity to both Co. Meath and Co. Monaghan makes Bell Hill Barns an excellent base from which to explore the North-East.

Our All-Purpose Room, The Barn, is a special feature offered in addition to the accommodation. Also restored, it makes an ideal meeting / activity room for groups.

During School Holidays we make a special effort to welcome our younger visitors. Children are invited to take part in our Morning Activities and may also avail of the amenities in The Barn.

So why not make Bell Hill Barns your special place for a break in the country. Looking forward to meeting you,

Declan and Maire
