Below is a treasure hunt that you can use to give a new twist to your visit to Knockabbey Castle and Gardens.

Every clue is visible. There is no need to overturn stones or touch shrubs or flowers.

Lets get started:

  1. Here stands a tree of might and power
    What's its name? It's called after a flower.

  2. Around the place are four ladies fair
    Representing the seasons. They are found where?

  3. Over here the lions roar
    But from their mouths what should pour?

  4. They are found in rocks as a rule
    But here the rocks are in a pool

  5. Over here a garden can be seen
    Who designed it? It is called after a Queen

  6. The Grass Tree comes from down under
    Where would you find it? I wonder!

  7. There is an octagon in the trees
    Give me it's name or number please

  8. It's nice to walk near water and shade
    But can you tell us when the canals were made?

  9. Oak leaves in wood but not in trees
    When you find one give location please

  10. All over the gardens trees abound
    But where is the one with the belt around?

  11. You are doing well - don't give up
    But where around here used you get a cup?

  12. This tree, in Ireland is often seen
    But this one's special - it's evergreen

  13. As you walk around in great big strides
    Can you name the tree that your path divides?
